Where it all begins
Maybe I should start at the beginning. I am Iris and I have always loved traveling. It is not just something I like doing; it is something I need. It is a chance to broaden my horizon and see the world from a different angle. I know I belong to the lucky ones that can afford to travel, but traveling doesn’t have to be expensive. The way you travel is the most determining factor and can vary a lot. I never thought I would start a blog, but here I am. We will see how things go. This journey starts in India. Not my first time India, but my fourth time. This time is different. This is the first time I will not be backpacking across the country. This time I will be doing an internship for 4 weeks. During 2 weeks I will be at Ruchika social service organisation in Bhubaneswar and then at Tara in Delhi for another 2 weeks. Today we arrived at Bhubaneswar. It was a cloudy day, but because of this the temperature was bearable. Tomorrow we will start with a first visit to the slums. I am wondering what I will see there. Will it be any different from the things I saw before? We will see. First I need some dinner and a good night’s sleep.
