Jonas
Hey, I’m Jonas. Once a little boy with white-blond hair and piercing blue eyes, now a grown-up who still cherishes childhood dreams and a love for adventure. Though I studied Orthopedagogy, my true passion has always been archaeology and history.
Motorcycles
At 14, my parents took me to India for the first time, where I fell in love with the iconic Royal Enfield motorcycles that lined every street and corner. Years later, after completing a four-month internship in Kovalam, India, it became clear to me—it was time to get my motorcycle license and start discovering the world on two wheels. Soon after, we embarked on a year-long ride across Asia, a journey that brought us back home with even bigger dreams. While working in a store selling motorcycle gear and studying to become a motorcycle mechanic, we started saving, and now, our round-the-world trip is finally becoming a reality!
Curious
I’ve always looked at the world with curiosity, eager to learn, to understand the “why” behind everything, and to gather as much knowledge as possible along the way. On the road, every day is a new lesson. I meet people who share their stories, explore the history of countries and archaeological sites, and feel the power of nature, whether it’s rain, wind, snow, or sunshine.
Iris
Hey, I’m Iris. I started out as a bold little girl, grew into a hard-working student, and along the way, discovered a deep love for long-distance hiking and motorcycle adventures. After earning my master’s degree in ‘Human Nutrition and Rural Development,’ we embarked on an epic journey across Asia and New Zealand. During that year on the road, new dreams began to take shape. We returned home with a burning desire for more and started saving for the ultimate adventure—a round-the-world journey. While working in the field of nutrition and studying to become a motorcycle mechanic, I earned my PhD in ‘Nutritional Sciences’ and continued my research until we were ready to chase the horizon once more.
Fernweh
For as long as I can remember, returning home from a holiday has always been bittersweet. More than once, I’ve found myself in tears, gazing at the horizon and yearning for the unknown. It wasn’t until later that I realized I might be experiencing ‘fernweh’ or ‘farawaysickness.’ It’s when I’m on the road, exploring new places, that I truly feel alive and at home within myself.
Why motorcycles and hiking?
Riding motorcycles and hiking across desolate landscapes give me an unparalleled sense of freedom. In these moments, I thrive, smiling in the face of adversity and finding a deep strength and peacefulness within. More than just a motorcycle lover, I see myself as a motorcycle traveler, always accompanied by a trusted companion who carries and supports me. For me, both riding and hiking serve one single purpose: to embrace every facet of who I am, the scared, the adventurous and the wild.
