The definition of existence

How do we define what is and what isn’t? Has something really happened if it hasn’t been shared online? So much of reality is defined by the internet and social media. Information, fake or not, travels around the globe at light speed, uncontrolled and unaccounted for. Where does reality stop and fiction take over?
Many of my most cherished memories took place far away from any internet connection without any proof of them happening. The moments that make my day aren’t the ones that I spend looking at my phone or scrolling through the news on my computer. Many of the best moments aren’t the one that can be captured on a photo. It are the intense moments where a camera is the last thing on your mind or the little moments that have gone by before you realise it. Where does reality stop and the story take over?

The connection between raw human beings is easily lost. We all tell stories to one another resembling part of the truth, but reality lies hidden below the surface. Of how many people do you know their fears and biggest desires? How many people have enough courage to face them? Life isn’t easy and it isn’t meant to be. Reality is created in trust and friendship. Life is lived in the details. In the stories that make you smile. In the unexpected encounters and in the words left unspoken.

Existence is defined by the life we choose to be real.
